Since 2011, the Fight To End Cancer (FTEC) initiative has rallied thousands of supporters under the banner of the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation (PMCF). Renowned for its annual black-tie boxing galas, FTEC has expanded its initiative from the West-End of Toronto to East-End of the GTA’s Durham Region. Thanks to FTEC Ambassador, Tyrone Magbitang and his team of first responders, The Rookie Division. They have successfully coordinated various charitable fitness events since 2022. Most notably, their annual Marathon Run-Raisers and the FTEC Fitness Games. Garnering support that’s raised over $10,000. Inching even closer to FTEC’s $4 million milestone!
Now, they are in hot pursuit of reaching $15K by next year.
Uniting under the cause is one of Durham’s most welcoming run groups, Running Waters. Since 2021, Running Waters has garnered a strong following of passionate runners and coffee lovers. They’re a group of everyday people who bring no shortage of smiles, laughter, and positivity when they lace up their kicks for weekly group runs. Additionally, Lululemon (Pickering City Centre) has brought the Sweat Life to the good fight when they competed in this years FTEC Fitness Games as the Lulu Legends. Both Running Waters and Lululemon are putting their best foot forward in support of the PMCF.
